Get trained to move from observation to action, recognize immigrant trauma signals, build trust, and link clients to community resources.

This recorded training helps licensed clinicians spot trauma signs in immigrant clients. You will learn how to build trust, use clear language, and chart in a neutral way. Topics include culture and background, how to work with interpreters, simple grounding skills for early sessions, and when to refer. You will also learn how to link clients to community help, such as legal aid, resettlement groups, clinics, schools, and faith groups.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify at least five trauma-related or culturally influenced behaviors in immigrant clients.

  • Ask three plain-language, trust-building questions about safety and authority.

  • Explain limits of confidentiality and consent in clear, simple terms.

  • Document observations in neutral, fact-based language (two example notes).

  • Outline a brief plan for working with interpreters (before, during, after a session).

  • Map a basic referral pathway to community supports (legal aid, clinics, schools, faith groups) and make a warm handoff.

Receive a bonus coursework workbook as a part of this course.

This program is designed to help clinicians recognize trauma signals in immigrant clients, build trust, document objectively, and coordinate community resources.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with nearly 15 years in the helping professions, specializing in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care for immigrant and refugee clients. My work focuses on recognizing trauma-related and culturally influenced behaviors, building trust with authority-sensitive clients, and using clear, plain-language communication.

I train clinicians to collaborate effectively with interpreters, document observations neutrally, maintain ethical boundaries and role clarity, and create practical referral pathways to community supports (legal aid, resettlement agencies, clinics, schools, and faith partners). This training translates those practices into simple, repeatable steps so participants can act confidently and responsibly in early sessions.
